Everything about this resonates with me! I’m a Clinical Psychologist who made the jump to EX six years ago. The Manifesto articulates the way I believe this work should be done beautifully!
EX is a contemporary way of saying "flourishing at work". I am with it. Let's make it the signature of work in the 2020s and beyond.
When employees feel listened to, included in conversations, empowered to create and share ideas and feel cared for, they will give so much more of themselves to the organisation.
Using a human-centric approach to co-designing employee experiences will uplift not only the employees and their wellbeing but the organisations they work for which in turn will contribute to a better society overall.
The future of workplaces lies in EX! It's time to take EX into the next level.
I'm proud to co-sign the EX Manifesto. This is a valuable tool that leaders can use to elevate their organisation's culture, one experience at a time. Any organisation that cares about doing good, whether through customer or employee experience, should invest time in learning and deploying the 7 principles.
I am interested to join your team. I am the experience manager of a company of 200 people.
this! all of this. Thank you for gathering all the things in one place.
Individuals spend hours at work. Individuals who feel appreciated for their innate talent and valued will feel like a meaningful contributor to society. Employers can be a source of good for the world or a source of toxic culture. Let's create workplaces that are source of good for the world
Using design principles to work from the user/consumer and work backwards to create processes, policies and tools/systems to make it simple and easy to consume things
Combine this with the Agile manifesto / Agile HR and you have the recipe for the future of HR.
This is powerful because it is such a strong collaboration of people with such varied experiences. The output is simple and easy to understand. It is something I have been trying to articulate. The topics of culture, experience journeys and design thinking are challenging to embed in my organisation. A strong foundation like this give confidence to better influence this change. Thank you for sharing.
I love that the framework values are a spectrum, rather than a definitive "this is our value" statement.
I love that the framework values are a spectrum, rather than a definitive "this is our value" statement.
This means that they create both the aspiration and also open a dialogue for organisations to see where on that scale we might currently reside.
I'm looking forward to bringing these principles to life in my next people role.
I really like how EX is much broader than traditional HR and based on the principle that work should benefit both individuals and organisations - people are more than just resources and the role of the organisation is to foster growth of individual as well as organisational growth. I'm looking forward to bringing these principles to life in my next people role.
Just as culture is never ‘finished’, EX Design is never ‘done’.
Number 3 really resonated especially - Just as culture is never ‘finished’, EX Design is never ‘done’.
I am passionate about continuous investigation, iteration and improvement. I also have a strong belief :
'Just as we grow old as humans, our childlike nature should never grow old. Seeing and adapting to changes in the employee lifecycle through this lens can help us connect with the joy and pleasure in what we do.'
It's a fresh vision!
It's a fresh vision! This will weave through all of my conversations.
Employee first...human centred design resonates with me!
Employee first...human centred design resonates with me!
I believe work should be additive to the human experience. When I leave an organisation I want to leave enriched with experience that has added to my life. I fundamentally believe organisations should hold a view that any employee they walk with should leave in better condition than they arrived (through a holistic lens).
EX (when done right) makes everyone feel supported, excited....
This manifesto clearly outlines what Employee Experience is all about...building environments for employees where they can be their best selves and contribute to the world in meaningful ways. A combination of learning, inclusion, and fun, EX (when done right) makes everyone feel supported, excited, and ready to do great things.
Good design is as little design as possible
Dieter Rams once said that any good design is as little design as possible. This manifesto managed to boil down EX to it's simplest form and that resonated with me.
Thank you for sharing this work!
I ama University professor and I teach EX in Argentina. Thank you for sharing this work!
Enabling employees get to information faster and more accurately
We are focused on the digital front door to employee experience. Enabling employees get to information faster and more accurately. Engaging with employees inside existing tools and workflows. Enriching internal communications through personalization. Finally, empowering employees to free up time and focus on high impact work, while surfacing needs across individuals, managers, and the organization.
Employees and employers shape the EX
Love that the Manifesto speaks to how both employees and employers shape the EX.
Impact and elevate company performance
EX design as the delivered way to impact and elevate company performance, as well as the customer experience through employee’s well-being and fulfilment
This is brilliant.
The distinction between what is culture and what is EX. EX is the individual Experience at work. Culture is the collective experience at work. EX Design defines workplace experiences. Employee experiences shapes workplace Culture. Workplace culture elevates organization performance. This is brilliant.
Taking a more human-centred approach
Taking a more human-centred approach that encourages trust and understanding with the employees.
I love the layers of the Definition of EX
I love the layers of the Definition of EX. They struck me as one of those "why didn't I think of that!?" moments. Thank you for putting this together! I fully endorse this manifesto.
Use research to help users shape and co-create people processes
I use research to help users shape and co-create people processes, in particular Talent and Learning and Development
It is so great that this manifesto is made
Thank you! It is so great that this manifesto is made. It will help to build more awareness regarding the importance of investing in great employee experiences all around the world!
Leaders, policymakers and workers must make more rigorous and inclusive decisions about work and work relationships.
After my 4 decades of research, teaching, writing and consulting on work in organizations, it is clear that leaders, policymakers and workers must make more rigorous and inclusive decisions about work and work relationships.
Organisations just need to ask the right questions and openly listen to the answers provided.
'Design with people' - key element to success. Work more closely with our people, they have great ideas and many solutions to challenges. Organisations just need to ask the right questions and openly listen to the answers provided.
Putting employees first, as that's what creates CX.
Putting employees first, as that's what creates CX. Hearing from employees and what their views and experience is. We are using a system BambooHR to do quarterly Wellbeing Check ins, and also 6 monthly surveys through BambooHR to gauge employee satisfaction, experience and gain employee feedback for change. We're finding this great for quick action to improve EX and can measure the impact with the changes implemented every quarter from employee feedback.
Love the whole thing.
Love the whole thing. I thought the distinction between measuring progress vs measuring maturity was super interesting.
Make it a place employees want to be, not just a means to a paycheck.
Working together to develop a culture with the needs of the employees in mind will help the organization make it a place employees want to be, not just a means to a paycheck.
It is critical for the employees to have a hand in shaping and fostering the company culture
It is critical for the employees to have a hand in shaping and fostering the company culture and Ex within the org. But just as important is their ability to share in the upside and profit from their collective efforts. A big part of our Ex has been moving toward an ESOP model where employees own the business and share in its enterprise value over time.
Without the intention to place our people at the centre of our organisations we are not optimising our organisations growth opportunity or service delivery
Without the intention to place our people at the centre of our organisations we are not optimising our organisations growth opportunity or service delivery to our customers and we are not enhancing the wellbeing of our people.
The EX Manifesto is a great stake in the ground to what is important for work and necessary in our modern world of work.
Customer-centric companies are employee-centric companies
What happiness to find EX Manifesto!
There is no doubt that customer-centric companies are employee-centric companies.
I'm studying a lot on the subject, because I need to prove the EX 4 CX with KPIs
It goes so far beyond HR
I learned a lot from my last CHRO on EX. It goes so far beyond HR. As a Global Operations Lead I make sure it is part of every decision I make. The old traditional HR way of thinking is outdated.
We work together to resolve challenges and find opportunities
At Optimal Workshop we live the principles of Design-centred thinking. We guide our people through the 'Optimal Way' which resonates deeply with the EX Manifesto. An excerpt here says: "We collaborate closely with our teams, faculties and squads. We remain approachable, open, and curious, as we work together to resolve challenges and find opportunities. We seek constructive feedback and act on it. We are aligned with the needs of our community, our customers and our company".
We are committed to sharing and learning with other EX professionals.
I want to be part of a company that is engaged with their engaged employees
I want to be part of a company that is engaged with their engaged employees, through meaningful experiences.
EX is improving
I really love how EX is improving.
Employees should mutually benefit from their performance which enables company success!
I work in the field of rewards/remuneration. The recent move towards transparency opens a wide door for companies to design WITH employees and welcome tough conversations. What's more, employees should mutually benefit from their performance which enables company success!
It all resonates with me especially the Values of EX.
Top work. It all resonates with me especially the Values of EX. Language can reframe outcomes. I'm 6 months into leading this work for our Council, in an environment of massive change, so this manifesto helps a great deal.
Best practice for motivating individuals
Building Culture, Continuous improvement, Innovative ideas and best practice for motivating individuals.
I particularly like the "welcome tough conversations"
So many resonate with me, I particularly like the "welcome tough conversations"
Workplace design rests on the experiences people have to foster the intended organizational outcomes sought.
Designing intentional experiences with employees to shape the culture really resonates. Workplace design rests on the experiences people have to foster the intended organizational outcomes sought. The essence of EX moves us from vertical top down systems to horizontal, collaborative learning ecosystems.
Mutually beneficial outcomes starts with human-centered design, co-designed with employees.
Mutually beneficial outcomes starts with human-centered design, co-designed with employees. YES! This is tough work and a significant change, but it's the imperative of this generation of HR and organizations.
Global organisations are at the cusp of a breakout revolution
I really believe that global organisations are at the cusp of a breakout revolution to build strategic and sustainable Employee experience in the coming years.
Love the asymptotic focus on continuous improvement
Love the asymptotic focus on continuous improvement and the human centred design elements.
You empower your combined relationship to get work done well.
Working remotely, being present with employees, engaged and driving towards their goals removes the waste of politics, noise and less effective effort. You empower your combined relationship to get work done well.
The principles are spot on!
Thank you for the manifesto. The principles are spot on!
Putting your employee's first, is a great way to treat your team
I've always believed servant leadership, putting your employee's first, is a great way to treat your team and to see them grow
[EX Design] is a crucial business function that needs to be prioritized
We need to recognize that the employee experience isn't a talent recruitment or retention strategy — it's a crucial business function that needs to be prioritized if a company wants to do more than scrape by.
Equip [the workforce] with a voice
My company is passionate about the Frontline Workforce. We provide access to critical resources for this workforce and equip them with a voice within their organizations to initiate change and progress.
Truly a win-win
I love this - people before profits, but elevating the experience is beneficial to both - truly a win-win.
The EX Manifesto resonates strongly with our work
The EX Manifesto resonates strongly with our work and we believe that decision-makers need to understand employee experience in order to make decisions, that this information has to come from employees themselves safely, that the solution process must include co-creation with employees, and ongoing measurement of EX is important to ensuring sustainable inclusion for the long-term. I look forward to seeing how we can support this manifesto and the broader work around
One of our new team members shared this and I felt so seen!
I am creating a People Experience team in the new year and one of our sub teams is called PX Design. One of our new team members shared this and I felt so seen! Thank you for creating this and spreading the great word!
Thank you for this - I love it!
EVERYTHING. Thank you for this - I love it! I'm a People Experience Design Leader and this is everything I've been looking for.
Putting People back at the heart of a business
Wowweeee, this is incredible. These principles are so powerful and help simplify the passion, truth and value that sits behind putting People back at the heart of a business. As a People person championing this in my organisation, this is amazing to read and know exists.
I especially love the co-design element of this manifesto
I especially love the co-design element of this manifesto - it's something the social impact and community health field is also trying to do. I hope to create in this space and live up to these standards! Thank you for writing this.
I appreciate the human-centered approach
I appreciate the human-centered approach that encourages trust and the focus on measuring the impact.
I love how the importance of EX before CX is outlined and that organisations need to start tackling EX by design
It is hard to pick something specific that resonates for me about the EX-manifesto. Apart from the value it adds as a complete document in helping to define and highlight the value of prioritising EX in addition to mahi that tackles workplace culture... I love how the importance of EX before CX is outlined and that organisations need to start tackling EX by design, and not by default. Being purposeful about understanding EX and engaging meaningfully with employees in order to design EX is something that I am deeply passionate about, and am trying my best to plant the seed about in my organisation.
My newly created role is as employee experience advisor
My newly created role is as employee experience advisor, with a view to tackle engagement and retention. Hoping to change the mindsets of $$ over people and the resource vs whole person narrative from the top down
Team members want just as much a voice in the change as the change leader
Co-designing I believe is a clearer and quicker path to acceptance and change. Love that it’s part of the manifesto, as team members want just as much a voice in the change as the change leader.
This manifesto helps a great deal.
Top work. It all resonates with me especially the Values of EX. Language can reframe outcomes. I'm 6 months into leading this work for our Council, in an environment of massive change, so this manifesto helps a great deal.
No customers without employees!
As a fellow EX advocate and having worked on designing employee experiences globally all of this resonates. Especially EX before CX…. No customers without employees!
We're using EX Design to ideate solutions
We're using EX Design to ideate solutions to help improve the experience of people working here and creating a wonderful place to work.
Giving everyone an even chance to access opportunities to grow and advance at work
Thanks for the work put into creating such a succinct Manifesto - I was expecting a thesis. Top value for us at people. LOOP is 'unlocking talent" and our view is that comes back to giving everyone an even chance to access opportunities to grow and advance at work.
